Commercial Sales Lead: (1 POSITION)
LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM
Role Purpose:
The Commercial Sales Lead is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and reports to the Country Director. The person in this strategic position is responsible for leading the Commercial Sales team at MST and planning and operationalizing the MST commercial sales strategy to meet the overall goals of the Commercial Sales Department. Specifically, the position will be held accountable, to deliver on the Commercial Sales KPIs, including but not limited to, product volumes and service income, couple years of protection (CYP), comprehensive abortion care/post abortion care (CAC/PAC), universe/coverage and distribution %, primary/secondary Sales ratios, gross margin (GM), surplus and service income/cost %.
In order to achieve these KPIs, the Commercial Sales Lead will be held accountable by the Country Director for product marketing, distributors management, branding and demand generation. They will also be expected to work closely with the MST supply chain team to minimise out of stock and stock write off situations.
The position is responsible for the sales performance and marketing of MST products. Products include pharmaceutical, medical devices and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). Specific products include sexual and reproductive health products like misoprostol, emergency contraceptive pills, oral contraceptive pills and condoms.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing Commercial Sales of Products
Develop Integrated marketing and sales strategies/plans and manage its implementation.
Marketing and Communication Support to Other Departments of MST
Team Leadership
Qualifications:
University degree in the relevant field
Management / business qualification (desirable), post graduate qualification preferable.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in sales in the private sector (preferably in managerial capacity and an international company in pharmaceutical, FMCG or health services sector);
Successful track record in driving sales (income and volume) year on year
Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a high-performance sales team
Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.
Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members.
Strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues
Successful track record of managing product and service marketing operations.
Minimum 7 years’ experience working as a member of a senior management team.
Skills:
Understand the Tanzanian FMCG and/or pharmaceutical sales sectors.
Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
Fluent English and Ki-Swahili, both oral and written.
Computer literacy (MS Office) Proven ability to ‘sell’ ideas, concepts.
Ability to lead and inspire staff in internal change processes.
Creative and strategic thinker.
Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Family Planning is added advantage.
